ones to watch

Apologies to all the fashionistas for the misleading title - no I'm not blogging to tell you about some up-and-coming alleyway indie designer (although I wish I was) - I'm talking about the movies! The other day I saw an advert in cinemas for the the new Wes Anderson movie, Moonrise Kingdom, and it's already made its way to the top of my bucket list to watch for the week. I've been waiting to see this movie for ages! Ever since I saw the trailer for it and its epic debut at Cannes Film Festival, I've been waiting eagerly till it hit the cinemas. Check out the trailer below! I'm a sucker for all things 60's, or anything that has to do with peter pan collars and nostalgia (and Suzy looks like a kiddie version of Lana Del Rey). Who doesn't love a good rom-com filled with adventure anyways?

I wouldn't mind being in Suzys shoes... or dress.... Images via Google

A few of my favorite looks showcased at NY fashion week for the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I'm loving the minimal color palette a la Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and Helmut Lang, and also the "cool kid on the block" look from Assembly. Let's not forget the exquisite baroque-esque designs from Marchesa (an eternal favorite of mine), but also the geometric and punchy prints from Proenza and Bibhu. The spring/summer runway is always one of my favorites! And I'm already loving what's coming off the runways in New York. I still have yet to catch up with London, and I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for Paris and Milan!

DARK EYES

Studded denim jacket - DIY/second hand
Crop top - American Apparel
Skirt - H&M

Leaning towards a more simplistic look for this outfit, as you can see it's black on black with a my denim jacket to spike things up a bit (pun intended). This was just one of those days when you look into your closet with despair and can't seem to piece together anything no matter how many bralettes and vests you throw around so I decided to stick to the basics! A quick and easy outfit... ok I lied about the quick, I took forever to decide what to wear BUT I'm pretty satisfied with the dark look + my statement jacket.

Until next time my loves!

hola

Hey everyone! Once again I apologize for disappearing off the face of the earth (or at least the internet), but since school started I've just been caught in a whirlwind of tedious errands and I haven't found time to take pictures, or prepare an interesting blog post in between running from class to class.

HOWEVER just as a little update on what's been going on with me, (other than school, which I'm sure none of you want to hear about) I've recently developed a new love for German rap... strange? I think it's just a phase, but I'm always listening to this artist - Cro (check out his soundcloud here) and his beats are just addicting! Check out Easy, Meine Zeit, Hi Kids, Du, and Kein Benz. Although I have no idea what he's saying, I still love it! Which I guess is one of the reasons why I like it, it just proves that the music itself is good and the credit isn't solely given to the lyrics :)

I've also created a couple of DIY's recently, so I'll hopefully be creating a post for that soon!

Talk to you guys soon!

fashions night out

(Photos via Nick C., Zoe S. & Natalie C.)
(I recycled all their photos, I own none of them! :( )

Last Friday I had the opportunity to check out HK's Fashions Night Out at Lane Crawford with my friends, and it was really a night to remember! (I wish I stayed longer) Exhibitions of designers were put up, and there was a special appearance from The Naked and Famous designers! Exclusive FNO tees and leather harnesses were up for grabs but I missed the chance to get one, which was a big regret. It was an unworldly experience and it was super cool meeting other fashion bloggers and a couple of notable figures in the HK fashion industry (i.e. Sarah Rushton, Kazuaki Kawamitsu). Check out my friend, Zoe's video of the event over at Fashiononymous (click here for the blog post!). It was a spontaneous decision to go to FNO, but I'm glad I went and will definitely be looking forward to next years! :)

fall in love

(images via Tumblr + Lookbook)

Hello! A bit of a long post today to make up for the diminishing updates, but I just wanted to share some looks that I've been falling in love with for Fall (thumbs up for being pun-ny). I can't wait to break out the pants, sweaters, and my denim + camo jackets! Too bad it's still considerably hot to start working my pants and beanies, but I'll definitely be including some pieces into my looks. Jac Jagaciak looks perfect as usual, so I couldn't resist adding her in, as well as Miss Kershaw whose dark lips and neutral eyes are the epitome of Fall beauty.
